Saint Elizabeth Home
The Saint Elizabeth Home serves 120 residents and offers both nursing and rehabilitative care, along with a secure living area for individuals with Alzheimer's disease and/or dementia, and hospice care. Saint Elizabeth Home opened in 1882 in Providence, and has operated in its current location in East Greenwich, RI since 2001. The new building provides gleaming rooms with modern conveniences to make each individual's stay a pleasant experience.
A resident and her granddaughter and great grandchildren visit in the garden area, which was expanded in 2007 and now encompasses nearly 5,000 sq. ft.
This garden is a beautiful oasis, used by residents with dementia or Alzheimer's disease and their families and friends. It provides a peaceful area for visiting, gardening and simply enjoying the outdoors in a secure, beautiful space, complete with a tranquility pond and outdoor seating.
Other common spaces include an 800 square-foot chapel, two 160-gallon aquariums, a coffee shop and outdoor patios at the front and rear of the building. Saint Elizabeth Home also has three separate dining rooms and covered porches for relaxing and visiting. Families can also take advantage of Saint Elizabeth Home’s public and private nursing consultation areas, if necessary.
Residents have many opportunites for social interaction, with a wide array of activities to choose from on a daily basis.
