PROVIDENCE, RHODE ISLAND, October 31, 2006: Saint Elizabeth Court has just opened a respite care apartment at its beautiful Providence campus. The service, available immediately, will provide a temporary home for elderly or infirmed members of the community when their beloved caregivers need to travel in the event of an emergency or a planned vacation.
“Respite care is good for both seniors and their families,” said Administrator Richard Frigon. “Everyone benefits when caregivers are rested and refreshed. With this new service, caregivers can take travel and rest easy, knowing their loved one is being well taken care of.”
With short-term respite care, seniors are afforded assistance with daily activities, such as dressing, bathing and medication administration or monitoring. They also receive local telephone service, cable television and three meals a day served in Saint Elizabeth Court’s elegant dining room for an affordable daily rate of $125.
“With the holidays approaching and also snowbirds heading to Florida, respite care becomes increasingly important,” added Frigon. “This service is just one more kind of housing and care that we now provide within The Saint Elizabeth Community’s continuum of care.”
