SAINT ELIZABETH COMMUNITY TO REPAY
EMPLOYEES’ NURSING SCHOOL LOANS
EAST GREENWICH, RI, May 31, 2006:In an effort to recruit recent nursing school graduates, The Saint Elizabeth Community is now offering to make monthly college loan payments for registered nurses and licensed practical nurses who have graduated from an accredited nursing program.
“There’s high demand for nurses right now, and we’re hoping that this incentive will help attract the attention of 2006 graduates,” said Steven J. Horowitz, president and chief executive officer.“Once candidates enter our door and speak with current employees, they’re sold. With this loan repayment offer and other generous benefits, we are providing another reason for potential employees to give us a second look. ”
To be eligible for the loan repayment offer, nurses must work a minimum of 20 hours per week, and have completed 90 days of employment. The Saint Elizabeth Community will pay up to $200 per month for full- time employees and will pro-rate the reimbursement for part-time employees.Checks are cut to the lending agency and will be made for the duration of employment (or until the loan is paid back in full).
In addition to this new loan repayment benefit, employees of Saint Elizabeth Home and Saint Elizabeth Manor receive tuition reimbursement, 401k contributions, health insurance, and a generous vacation package.
The Saint Elizabeth Community is a non-profit, non-sectarian charitable organization that has been providing quality care to the elderly and infirmed since its founding in 1882. A member of the CareLink network, The Saint Elizabeth Community offers four locations around Rhode Island that provide a full range of services – from independent apartments to skilled nursing care – and a staff who treats them with compassion and respect.
