Saint Elizabeth Community - Just like family
Celebrating 125 Years (1882-2007) - Caring Through the Ages

Training Opportunities

Saint Elizabeth Home and Saint Elizabeth Manor both conduct training courses to prepare individuals to become Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA).  (CNAs are the primary caregivers to the elderly and individuals with chronic illness who reside in our nursing homes.  They are responsible for assisting with personal hygiene, feeding, transporting, and documenting changes in the residents’ conditions.)  These courses are offered periodically throughout the year at no cost to interested individuals.

The course consists of classroom work and clinical experience.  Course instructors work with students as mentors and tutors to prepare them for the state certification exam.

This training course is an excellent opportunity for individuals to gain the confidence and skills they need to begin a career in the health care field.  Many of the CNAs currently employed at our residences began as trainees through this program.
