Cornerstone Adult Services, Inc. has been serving the frail elderly and adults with disabilities for over 35 years. In 1973, Cornerstone (previously known as The Warwick Central Geriatric Center, Inc.) opened the first adult day center in Rhode Island.
Throughout its 35 year history, Cornerstone has been providing a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for its participants, and has provided services during the day including nursing care, nutritious meals, physical exercise and enriching activities.
In 1987, Cornerstone established the first dementia-specific day center in Rhode Island, the Cornerstone Alzheimer's Care Center. Today Cornerstone has five adult day centers in Rhode Island located in Warwick, Coventry, Bristol, and Little Compton and also administers the Rhode Island Volunteer Guardian Program.
