Saint Elizabeth Community Awarded $5.2 Million HUD Grant
Will build apartments for seniors in Warwick
Saint Elizabeth Community was awarded a 5.2 million dollar grant from The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, to construct a 34 unit apartment building for low income seniors with supportive services in Warwick. In addition Saint E’s will receive project rental assistance contract and budget authority of $160,100 and $480,300 respectively.
This grant will provide the Warwick community needed affordable housing, and the building will be located at the very beginning of Warwick Neck, on property adjacent to Cornerstone Adult Services, Inc. “This is a very exciting project,” says Steve Horowitz, President and CEO of Saint Elizabeth Community, “and along with our partnership with Cornerstone, this will allow us to develop innovative models of care.
Breaking ground is anticipated in the spring of 2010.
